STOCKBRIDGE — The city of Stockbridge invites the community to attend upcoming town hall meeting on Oct. 26. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. in Stockbridge City Hall and allow an opportunity for residents to ask questions about the city’s homestead tax exemption.

A homestead property tax reduces the amount of property taxes that a homeowner owes on their residence. Currently, the state’s homestead exemption allows property owners to be granted a $2,000 exemption from county and school taxes. There are additional property tax exemptions offered from the state as well, for example if an individual is older than 65 or the surviving spouse of a U.S. service member.
