Marine veterans praise guardians of American freedom

Photo by Jason A. Smith Bob Van Dunk, founder Marine Corps League Detachment 1339, said Henry County’s annual observance of Memorial Day helps people to remember the significance of the holiday.

Three members of the Marine Corps League McDonough Detachment No. 1339, all agreed that military veterans have a hefty support system in their government and civilian allies.

However, they said more could be done to help support the military veterans, from issues such as healthcare to citizens simply demonstrating patriotism.
