BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Cole Custer recovered from an early brush with the outside wall to win the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, the race that set the field for the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs.

Custer posted his second victory of the season. Combined with a litany of trouble that befell Justin Allgaier, Custer, in the No. 00 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford, came from behind and earned the regular-season title and accompanying 15 playoff-point bonus.
