While one chapter of Kelli Hutcheson’s long career in education — specifically, her time employed by her beloved Henry County Schools — is over, she isn’t ready to slow down in her longtime mission of supporting high school student-athletes.

Though Hutcheson officially retired January 1 after the fall semester and ended a 36-year career in education, she is excited about her next career move with Positive Athlete, a recognition program that honors high school athletes and coaches for various traits, including high character, the ability to overcome adversity and community service. She also plans to continue work at the state and national level as incoming president (she is currently vice president) of the Georgia Athletic Directors Association.
