Before their practice Wednesday evening, the Stockbridge Tigers football team got a couple surprises — they were awarded with two team of the week awards (Deer Park Team of the Week and Georgia High School Football Daily Team of the Week) and they got a visit from NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. The Tigers are playing Perry in the Class AAAA state championship Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and O’Neal gave a short motivational talk at the Wednesday practice. Former Redan, Decatur, Woodland, and South Gwinnett head coach Steve Davenport and Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett also spoke to the team.
