McDONOUGH – The city of Stockbridge budget for the new fiscal year will likely be approved by the Stockbridge City Council during its meeting Dec. 17. Staff members are finalizing the budget after requests were made by the council during its meeting on Dec. 9 after being in the process of creating the budget since May 2024.

Proposed general funds for the fiscal year fiscal year 2025 budget increased from 2024 to a total of $29,239,311. Departments that receive general funding include the city clerk, finance and police departments, parks and government buildings, etc. Enterprise funds, which go to the Public Facilities Authority, cemetery, Merle Manders Conference Center, and others are proposed at $32,949,307 for fiscal year 2025, an increase of more than $3 million from the year before. Together, these two categories total to the $62,188,618 total budget proposed for fiscal year 2025.
