MCDONOUGH — After a recent vote by the Henry County Board of Commissioners, the board will have the final approval of the county’s elections supervisor.

Under the previous rules, the Chief Judge of Superior Court was responsible for selecting or firing the elections supervisor. Under the updated rules, the Board of Elections will make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners, which will then have final approval. The elections officer will also now report to the county manager.
