STOCKBRIDGE — Her neighborhood’s clubhouse was full on Sept. 29 with friends and family singing “Happy Birthday” to Elise Jones as she sat in the center, smiling ear-to-ear while wearing a sparkling pink birthday sash. It was an important day — Jones turned 100 on Sept. 27, and people of all ages came to Stockbridge from all around the country to help her celebrate.

Jones moved to Stockbridge in 2008 with her late husband, Delmar, after moving 18 times throughout their marriage. She continues to live in the same house they shared when first moving to town, with most things remaining the same — Delmar’s voice still takes messages on their answering machine and the furniture he made decorates their home.
