McDONOUGH — Southern Crescent Veteran Services and City Barbeque have partnered to hold a fundraiser that will raise “much-needed” funds to help support the mission of Southern Crescent. The fundraiser will give 20% of meal prices placed at City Barbeque on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. back to Southern Crescent.
Funds raised will go towards homeless veterans and the Southern Crescent Youths program that provides a healthy breakfast and lunch to 200 children seven days a week for nine weeks. The Homeless Veterans Initiative works to address the immediate need and issue of homelessness among the Veteran population in McDonough. Currently, they are raising funds to stop the evictions of veterans and foreclosures on their homes.
