LOCUST GROVE — For the winner of the biggest catch of the day, the first time was the best time to attend the Henry County Water Authority’s (HCWA) Cubihatcha Kids Fishing Day, held recently at the utility’s Long Branch Reservoir, which is adjacent to the Cubihatcha Outdoor Education Center in Locust Grove.

Skylar Spence, a 17-year-old junior at Ola High School, reeled in the derby’s biggest fish — a 7 pound, 3 ounce catfish — to bring home the trophy as the overall winner.
