McDONOUGH – New leave policies are in effect for McDonough city employees after the City Council voted to approve revisions in its meeting Nov. 18. The council authorized all policy recommendations in a 6-0 vote after they were presented by McDonough’s Human Resources Director Latangela Hill.

Hill’s first recommendation was to add clarity to the city’s policy for employees required to work on city holidays. She recommended that the policy be revised to provide working employees with time-and-a-half pay for the entirety of their shift on a city holiday. Previously, the employees would receive time-and-a-half pay for a particular length of their shift and then convert back to the original hourly pay.
